Brand Spotlight: Amour Vert

Sustainable fashion made in the USA, 'with every stitch a purpose' is the motto for this change making brand. When Amour Vert founder, Linda Balti, discovered fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world she knew that something had to change. French for 'Green Love', Amour Vert was built on the belief that great fashion and social responsibility can coexist.

"A woman should never have to sacrifice style for sustainability."

With clear core values the brand promises its customers American manufacturing, non-toxic dyes, sustainable fabrics, a zero-waste philosophy, and what they believe to be most important, enduring style. The range is built around six sustainable textiles including certified organic cotton, tencel and modal, linen, merino wool, recycled polyester and Indian silk. Amour Vert utilizes efficient cutting techniques, local production and empty trucks from other local businesses on return trips to transport their fabric as just some of the ways to reduce their environmental footprint. The brand also gives back through their 'buy a tee plant a tree' commitment. With every purchase of a tee they will plant a tree in North America in association with American Forest. To date more than 130,000 trees have been planted!

Along with a great range of t-shirts in a variety of cuts and colours, expect to find feminine blouses and dresses in an array of prints, and easy everyday pieces that are sure to fit with any woman's wardrobe. A handful of other ethical and sustainable designers are also on offer to compliment and complete the range.  Key and staple styles are covered as well as new season trends to satisfy even the most fanatical fashionista. Amour Vert also stocks a wide selection of accessories both made in house and from other ethical and sustainable brands, plus a small baby range and homeware options.

With four store locations across California, free domestic shipping on all orders within the USA and international shipping offered to select countries including Canada and Australia, access to the amazing Amour Vert range is easy wherever you are!

With the weather warming up I've been dreaming about and planning my Spring/Summer wardrobe and am so pleased to have stumbled across ST.AGNI in the process! Founded by husband and wife duo, Lara and Matt Fells, in Byron Bay, this gorgeous brand reflects the Australian beach lifestyle of it's origin. With a philosophy of less is more, the couples design approach is minimalistic, leading to a range of versatile, everyday pieces.

Known for their gorgeous handmade leather footwear you'll find beautiful and simple slides, mules, loafers and sandals to go with your entire wardrobe. Plus a great accessories collection for women and men consisting of bags, clutches, wallets and belts that will finish off any look. The brands clothing range is made entirely of 100% linen and aligns with it's minimalistic philosophy. Clean, simple dresses and tanks in a neutral colour palette define the collection with some great casual bottoms and seasonal items also available.

ST.AGNI prides itself on creating meaningful relationships with the people and factories that make their products, and strives to minimize their impact on the environment. All leather goods come from a small factory of around 50 employees in Java, Indonesia, allowing the brand to closely monitor the quality of their product by working directly with the artisans who make it. To minimize their carbon footprint the brands leather source is locally farmed cows raised purely for consumption and leather. And, in an effort to reduce waste, plastic packaging is minimized with the use of reusable dust bags instead. Finally, and possibly most importantly, the brand is careful to produce only to meet demand.

With stockists all over Australia and selected stores in New Zealand, USA and Canada you can check out the beautiful range of products on offer in person or visit the website for worldwide shipping at ST.AGNI

Brand new online store eco|mono is here and ready to make your search for fashion that aligns with your values easy! Based out of Australia this online market place offers a curated selection of local ethical and sustainable brands, featuring everyday basics and stylish pieces that are sure to live in your wardrobe for years. The websites founder, Sam Leigh, describes the intention behind eco|mono best -

"The destination for those wanting to shop sustainable fashion without jeopardizing their style."

Originally a blog started by Sam to educate her readers about the fashion industry, eco|mono has evolved into something much more than that. While the site is now an online destination for conscious clothing and accessories it continues to spread the word and promote the world of sustainable fashion with regular blog content. However, its new purpose is to increase accessibility of sustainable fashion and provide a one stop shop where consumers can make stylish fashion purchases without compromising on their values.

One of my favourite features of eco|mono is the values section which allows customers to shop according to what's most important to them. That's right, you can choose from 10 values and shop products directly from the values page, could it be any simpler to make a conscious fashion purchase?! I also love Sam's philosophy when selecting product for the site. She approaches the buying process with a capsule wardrobe in mind and ensures each piece can easily mix and match by focussing on a monochrome colour palette.

With 15 brands currently available you don't want to miss this beautiful selection of clothing and accessories awaiting your next conscious purchase. At the moment shipping is within Australia only, so if you're fortunate enough to live local then check out eco|mono now!

Brand Spotlight: Cuyana

A luxury lifestyle brand created with the belief that fashion can be different, Cuyana means "to love" in Quechua and its name is inspired by the desire for customers to love what they buy, love how it's made and love when they wear it. Co-founders, Karla Gallardo and Shilpa Shah, wanted to make fashion more fulfilling and soulful, and so have created a brand that promotes intentional buying, offers quality at affordable prices, and supports local craftsmanship.

A large portion of the range is made locally in the United States with remaining manufacturing outsourced to artisans that specialise in the relative technique in countries such as Peru, Italy and Argentina. But it's their ethos of "fewer, better things" that sets this brand apart and promotes a more positive life for all involved. Cuyana's designs focus on everlasting style rather than trends, in line with their 'less is more' and 'quality not quantity' approach to building our wardrobes and eliminating clutter from our lives.

The line consists of clothing and accessories including handbags, wallets, scarves and hats, all constructed from the finest materials and ranging in price from $40 for basic tees to $200 plus for dresses, knitwear and handbags.
