Bridal Gown: Vermont by Manuel Mota / Bridal Shoes: Badgley Mischka / Veil and Headpiece: Modes Bridal
Bridesmaid Dresses and Shoes: Zara
Like most brides out there, one of the most important parts of wedding planning for me was finding the perfect dress. I searched high and low for months and the hunt was well worth it when I finally discovered this amazing Manuel Mota creation from Modes Bridal in Auckland.
It was everything I had dreamed of…made from the most beautiful double layered lace, fitted through the body with a trumpet hem, not strapless and with an amazing back detail complete with a chapel length train.
Once you find your perfect dress the focus then moves on to the accessories that will complete your look…these extra details can change the look and feel of your dress dramatically! I always wanted to wear a veil and this cathedral length silk chiffon stunner perfectly flowed out over the train while not covering up too much of the beautiful back detail on the dress.
When it came to jewellery a pair of simple emerald cut cubic zirconia studs where all that was needed to ensure the lace was the main focus. But the look wasn’t quite complete…I had loved the idea of a decoration in my hair (which had to be worn up to show that amazing back!) and a headpiece turned out to be the perfect addition. Modes was amazing and helped me design and construct it using the exact same lace as my dress. I do love a bit of matching!
Lastly were the shoes, which looking back I probably spent too much time worrying about…remember ladies, if your dress is long your shoes won’t even be seen! Obviously they still matter though! I loved the simplicity and slightly more champagne shade of these shoes against my dress.
Then there are the bridesmaids dresses to consider and how these will go with your bridal look. I’m not a very colourful person and have never been one for having a favourite colour so a colour theme was never on the cards! Therefore I stuck with cream and was very lucky to find this amazing dress at Zara…it was the perfect shade of cream, had a gorgeous back detail and the length was appropriate, don’t even get me started on the struggles of finding a dress that’s not too short! Finished off with some simple black strappy heels and large princess cut cubic zirconia studs, the look was understated and classy.
Obviously I absolutely love how my wedding ‘look’ came together, but I know everyone has different taste and there are so many gorgeous wedding party looks out there.
Good luck to all of you currently searching for your perfect dress and creating your wedding look…enjoy it!
